- MAKE IT SPOTLESS - INSIDE & OUTSIDE. Clean everything, including the appliances, carpets, blinds and windows.
- KEEP IT FRESH. Eliminate odors, such as mildew, pet or cooking smells. Have a third party "smell tester" check when finished.
- GET RID OF CLUTTER. Clutter makes the appearance smaller. Clear off counters, tabletops, mantles and dressers.
- PACK UP PERSONAL COLLECTIONS AND PHOTOS. You are selling. Make the home appeal to the buyer who wants to "see himself" in your home.
- CREATE OPEN, WELCOMING OPEN SPACES. Arrange furniture to highlight each room's strong points. Make rooms appear larger by eliminating extra furniture and accessories.
- LET THERE BE LIGHT. Prune back plants that may block natural light. Keep blinds and curtains open, especially if there is a view.
- BRIGHTEN THE WALLS. A fresh coat of paint will make a room more inviting. Light, neutral and warm tones are best. They make the rooms appear larger and are more welcoming to the buyer.
- SPRUCE UP THE YARD. Keep the lawn mowed and green. Store toys and garden tools. Weed the flowerbeds and add a fresh layer of bark.
- MAKE A GREAT ENTRANCE. Paint the front door. Install a nice doorknob set and porch light. Fill planters with seasonal flowers. Put up new house numbers.
- DO A DRIVE-BY INSPECTION. Pretend you are the buyer. Drive up to the home and look at it through fresh eyes. If you have missed anything, now is the time to make those changes.
- GIVE ME A CALL, LET'S GET TOGETHER AND LIST YOUR HOME FOR SALE!
